In 2024, at the request of Carolina Employment Business & Training Centre (CEBT), a Section 18A organization, Lamatsamo Holdings embarked on a transformative journey to support women entrepreneurs in South Africa. This initiative, coordinated by GI Advisory, represents a comprehensive approach to community development through economic empowerment. It combines direct business support with strategic community strengthening, creating sustainable pathways for economic development and stability. The program’s inaugural beneficiaries demonstrate significant business growth and community impact, validating our model’s effectiveness.

Empowering Carolina's Youth: 2024 Matric Success

Carolina Employment Business & Training Centre (CEBT) and Lamatsamo Holdings, in partnership with the Department of Basic Education (DBE), Ilima Coal Company (Pty) Ltd, and Pretorius Group of Companies (PGC), are proud to announce exceptional 2024 Matric results from our supported schools in Carolina.

These results demonstrate the success of our collaborative approach to education. Since 2015, we have played an active role in Carolina’s academic sphere, ensuring learners receive bursary funding, support for registration fees, skills development, and mathematics and science programs, thereby empowering Carolina’s youth. Bonisile Shongwe, MD of Lamatsamo Holdings and Executive Director of CEBT, stated: “These outstanding results reflect our collective commitment to empowering Carolina’s youth. We extend our gratitude to the DBE, Ilima Coal, PGC, and all our partners. As we look to 2025, we call on all stakeholders to join us in pushing these achievements even higher, nurturing the next generation of leaders who will drive Carolina’s economic growth to new heights.”

We also acknowledge the crucial roles played by Dr. Mngomezulu, the circuit manager, and Mr. Lukhele, the centre manager, whose leadership has been instrumental in this success. This achievement underscores the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, government bodies, and private sector partners in fostering academic excellence and community development.

Lamatsamo Holdings Advances CEBT's Educational Mission

Carolina Employment, Business and Training Centre (CEBT) marks another milestone in its community development journey with the unveiling of its new logo, reflecting the organization’s growth and commitment to excellence. As a longstanding supporter, Lamatsamo Holdings continues to strengthen CEBT’s impact by funding tertiary education students’ registration and transportation costs for the 2025 academic year.
CEBT’s proven track record in the Carolina community, particularly in facilitating access to education and employment opportunities, has been significantly enhanced by Lamatsamo Holdings’ sustained support. This ongoing collaboration exemplifies the organization’s commitment to creating sustainable pathways for local youth to access higher education.
 
The initiative aligns with CEBT’s broader mission of community development through education and training. Through strategic collaborations with mining houses and other institutions, CEBT continues to expand its reach and impact in the Carolina area. These partnerships have been instrumental in creating opportunities for skills development and employment in the region.
